Stay Balanced

Compassion fatigue is quite common in nursing, but it can also be subtle when it hits you. When you’re busy taking care of patients day in and day out, you don’t always have time to stop and pay attention to little hints in your emotions. I mean stress is a part of the job right? Well, not quite! While you’re giving so much for your patients, be sure to take care of you! There have certainly been shifts that were so  emotionally, physically and  mentally draining that I wasn’t sure I wanted to come back. I’m so grateful for family, friends and other outlets ( malls and spas are great to!) . There’s great resources for us to be able to recognize and combat compassion fatigue. Here’s one I found very interesting. Happy reading and remember to give yourself the same great care you give to your patients!
